Let's Start

I know everyone needed a little break from last semester and the beginning of the school year. Everyone is asking about my recovery which I can say it's going very well. I'm able to limp around without a cane. Monday I walked 1/4 mile, Tuesday 1/3, and Wednesday 1/2 mile. Today I laid off of walking to give my muscles and hip a needed break.

I plan to be with you on Saturday, February 8th. Hopefully all day. Koy Coffer will be conducting the L.A.N.D.S. Curriculum training designed by the National Wildlife Association. She's a great presenter and I bring her down every couple of years. I've learned a thing or two from her, so I'm certain that you'll gain a lot of great activities to use with your students.

We're only going to meet three more Saturdays over the semester. I'm trying to work around my calendar and have been having a difficult time. Some of the sessions will be in the afternoon since many of you will be doing Saturday Academies with your students. I know that it makes for long days. I'm also trying to get these days in before the end of March.

Don't forget to work with your mentees and document carefully. This semester you will be uploading your mentoring report into TK20. If you don't have an account by this time, you'll need to get one ASAP. Also, the reimbursement period is over.

Most of your assignments will be turned in through Google Drive or Blog. If you are new this semester make certain that you have secured a Gmail account. I'll be meeting with small groups using Google Hangouts.

The first assignment is set for this Saturday, February 1, 2014. It's a couple of readings that you must turn in reports and questions. Visit the assignment and reading list section on this blog for more details.
