For your first blog describe the purpose of the L.A.N.D.S. Curriculum. Answer the following questions within your narrative.
- How does the curriculum relate to the students in your classroom? You may want to describe the demographics of your class and explain their familiarity with wildlife resources and their knowledge of the workshop content.
- What do you think would be the best way to introduce students to the L.A.N.D.S. Curriculum concepts?
- Explain how you would introduce these concepts to teachers at selected grade levels or subject areas.
- What topics do you believe could have also be included to help support your implementation in the classroom and in training sessions.
Assignment 3 - Visit the Project Wild webpage. After reviewing the website and at least two PW activities at your grade level, explain how the activities compare to the L.A.N.D.S. Curriculum. Use the RSRQ Format to submit your report. Use Google Drive for this submission.
Assignment 4 - What are your thoughts about animal dissections or the alternative of using classroom or computer simulations? Use the RSRQ model to report on your thoughts about the articles below. Then, write a blog post explaining your thoughts.
Assignment 5 - The importance of metacognition is the focus of this assignment. Visit the reading list and complete the next two readings and reflect on these articles using the RSRQ model and post on your blog.
Assignment 6 - This past week we experienced a comparison of different inquiry approaches. Write a blog post describing your experience with the inquiry activities. Visit the reading list and complete the next assigned reading. There is only one article which focuses on inquiry at the middle school level. It's a long article so only one reading has been assigned. Reflect on this article using the RSRQ model and post on your blog. Check to see that I'm invited to your blog so that I can review your comments.
